Gettysburg, Pa. - In its first tournament of the 2024 fall season, the Adelphi University women's golf team took home a second-place finish at the WCU Battlefield Classic, hosted by West Chester University of Pennsylvania at The Links at Gettysburg.
Franklin Pierce cleared the other seven schools by a wide margin, ending the day at 38-over 614 as a team. The Brown and Gold finished with a score of 81-over 657, which was a six-stroke advantage over the hosts West Chester.
Leading the way for the Panthers was reigning NE10 Rookie of the Year
Filippa Schulze Doering, with the third-best score of all players on Day 1 with a three-over 75. Rounding out her total score of 10-over 154, the Malta native finished fourth amongst the field.
Freshman
Ivory Drusch started her collegiate career in style, earning a tenth place finish after a strong Day 2, improving four strokes to an eight-over 80.
Jenny Kim didn't fall too far behind, tying for 15th after a two-day score of 25-over 169.
Another newcomer,
Adaline Ochoa, also finished inside the top 20, getting just one stroke behind at 26-over 170.
Lauren Jaskier and
Cat Slade (individual) rounded out the Panther scorecard with a 38-over 182.

Bill Bresnan and the Panthers will be back in action at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, taking place from Monday, Sept. 16 - Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Brentwood Golf Course in Keene, N.H.
