Austin, TX - Rounding out an exceptional year,
Jack Hipchen of the men's lacrosse program becomes the eighth Adelphi student-athlete recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC), as he was named to the Academic All-American Second Team for the first time in his career.
With a 3.7 grade point average, Hipchen earned his degree in Management this spring, just days before helping the men's lacrosse program earn the first NCAA Division II National Championship crown since 2001.
Hipchen, a midfielder hailing from Hoffman Estates, Illinois spent his final season starting in 17 of the 19 games played with 18 points and 16 caused turnovers. Essentially part of the faceoff unit, he scooped up 48 ground balls - good enough for third best on the team.
Hipchen joins four other men's lacrosse players that have earned the recognition, as Adelphi is represented for the second straight season following
Joseph Duchnowski's honor in 2023. Brendan McDougal '19 is still the lone men's lacrosse athlete to have picked up the honor in back-to-back seasons.
