Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Fisenne Leads in #1 Men's Lacrosse Rout of #19 Bentley

Worcester, Mass. - The no. 1 Adelphi University men's lacrosse team won its seventh straight contest in 2026 on Saturday, topping no. 19 Bentley 12-6 on the Falcons home field.

Series History:
  • The Panthers (7-0, 3-0 NE10) are 26-3 all time against Bentley dating back to the 2002 season, following it's Saturday victory. Two of the three losses came during the 2023 season, including a loss in the NE10 semifinal round.
  • The six runs marks the sixth consecutive meeting that the Falcons were held to single digits against the Panther defense.
Highlights:
  • Braden Donnellan put together a team-leading five points on a pair of goals and a trio of assists. Additionally he was responsible for five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
  • Danny Fisenne was Adelphi's leading scorer, as he finished with a career-high four points on four goals.
  • Defensively, Carter Linkletter was a menace to the Falcons, causing six turnovers with five ground balls of his out. He anchored a defense that saw Christian Tomei win his seventh between the pipes, as the netminder collected 13 saves.
How it Happened:
  • Fisenne scored the first two goals right out of the gate, and Donnellan added Adelphi's third before the home team got on the board. With under a minute remaining in the opening quarter, Bentley snuck in a quick goal to make it a two-goal deficit for the hosts.
  • It took over five minutes before the Cats got going again in the second but another one from Fisenne at 9:04 made it a three-goal margin. The Falcons added their second of the game and lone tally of the second frame, before Adelphi tacked on a pair in the closing minute.
  • Kyle Lewis and Noah Gibson both scored with less than 60 seconds before the halftime break and just over 25 seconds apart, due largley in part to a faceoff win for William Greaves following Lewis' goal.
  • Coming out of the break, the teams were even in shots for the third quarter and even held an edge in faceoff wins, but both sides finished with a trio of goals to still make it a 9-5 advantage for Adelphi heading into the final 15 minutes.
  • After the hosts scored in a man-up possession, the remainder of the contest was all Panthers, as Lewis McDermott and Donnellan scored to keep the home team at bay.
Hear from Coach Purdie:
  • "Today was a great team win. We had to battle through some adversity at the X and in the penalty box, but our defense continues to step up and we were efficient on offense. The team played hard and continues to improve each game."
