Twice as Nice - Two Garner NE10 Weekly Recognition

4/29/2024 2:00:00 PM

Mansfield, Mass. - With the Northeast-10 quarterfinals looming, Adelphi University women's lacrosse had two players earn weekly recognition, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Kelly-Ann McGrath has bookended the regular season with the Player of the Week honor, earning her first on February 18 at the start of the 2024 campaign. In a 2-0 week for Adelphi, McGrath was responsible for eight goals and two assists on offense, making it possible with her 16 draw control wins.

On the other side of the ball she accounted for five caused turnovers and three ground balls. Her best game of the week was a high scoring affair against SNHU where she scored five times, added two helpers and won a team-leading 13 draw controls.

Ashley Kolomechuk picks up her third Rookie of the Week nod this season following a five goal, two assist week to lead all Adelphi rookies. Her lone goal against New Haven was a converted free position shot, earning her a perfect shot-on-goal percentage in the game.

Adelphi has locked up the no. 2 seed in the conference, only falling to top-seeded Pace by a single goal. Regular season games wrap up on Wednesday, with the bracket release to follow that day. The Panthers will host a quarterfinal matchup at noon on Saturday, May 4, with their opponent to be determined.
