Garden City, N.Y. - As it continues through its 2023-24 season, the Adelphi University men's golf team has announced that it will be signing Mitchell Archer, set to begin competition in the fall of 2024.
Archer hails from DeWitt, N.Y. and will be graduating from Jamesville-DeWitt High School later this spring. During his time in the greater Syracuse area, the prospective freshman has aided his school in winning multiple Section III Championships.
In his time out as a junior player, Archer won multiple tournaments, including the Junior AIM Championship in July 2023. His efforts earned him a spot on the Williamson Cup Team for the year, where all-star junior golf teams compete from across the world.
Head Coach
David Mattana said of the newcomer, "Mitchell is an outstanding talent who has proven he can compete and win at the highest level. We expect him to be a driving force, as Adelphi golf transitions from regional to national prominence in the coming years."
Mattana and the Panthers continue their Spring 2024 campaign after winning the NE10 in October. The win qualified them for the NCAA East/Atlantic Super Regional, taking place at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va. from Friday, May 10 - Saturday, May 11.
