Worcester, Mass. - It was a historic weekend for both the Adelphi University men's and women's swimming and diving programs, as they raced to their best finishes since joining the league in the 2009-10 season at the 2024 Northeast-10 Conference Championship meet.
Led by first year
Ryan Kakimseit, the men's team earned a record 590.5 points to place third overall at the event. The women, who saw two podiums from sophomore
Emily Munayirji, earned 317 points en route to a sixth place finish.
In total, the men earned 11 individual medals, trumping last year's total of four and saw four different relay teams post medal-winning performances. The women had plenty of point earners and time drops alongside Munayirji's placements and the 200 freestyle relay set a program record in the specialty.
The lone representative for the Panthers in the diving pool was Melaney Arevalo. After a prelim finish of seventh place, she moved up one spot and placed sixth in the finals of the one-meter event.
