1/14/2024 10:43:00 AM

Albany, N.Y. - Continuing their upstate tour, the Adelphi University men's and women's swimming and diving programs took victories from the College of Saint Rose on Saturday, with one more tune-up meet on the docket before the 2024 Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

The men's squad picked up its second win of the weekend, taking a 137-94 finish from the Dolphins while the women turned it around from the day before, securing a 149-94 victory.

Cooper Rivers and Ryan Kakimseit both scored two individual wins and book-ended the 200 freestyle relay that took first in a time of 1:29.49. Assisted by Eric Slavin and Elijah West, all four members of the squad swam sub-23 seconds in their respective legs, with Rivers anchoring the relay with a 22.17 finish.

The aforementioned plus Jake Chee-A-Tow all collected 18 points in the team's victory, as the latter took first in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly alongside helping the 200 IM relay to a second place showing in the lanes.

Time Kanaley swam a season-best in his leg of the 200 freestyle relay (Adelphi B) and also placed first in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:42.03, a near 14 second difference between him and the next finisher from Le Moyne.

Five different ladies all scored 18 points for the women, as rookies Ally Westendorf and Aizel Pusing each had two individual victories and had a leg in the 200 medley relay that took gold.

Emily Munayirji also took top times in the 200 freestyle and 100 back while recording a leg in the 200 medley relay, as that squad used a sub-20 effort from Natalia Brulinski to pick up the win. For the distance swims, Delaney Noel and Kellee Munoz beat out two Saint Rose swimmers to add 13 points to the women's total.

Adelphi will host powerhouse Southern Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 20 at noon. The team will also be spreading awareness about the Morgan's Message organization with t-shirt sales outside of the pool.
