Westminster, Mass. - The Adelphi University women's golf team finished in fourth place earlier this week at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, held at the Woods of Westminster Golf Course.
Since poor weather conditions canceled the tournament's opening round, the Panthers played a single round on Tuesday and shot a 41-over 325.
Ilaria Ponziani once again led the way for the Brown and Gold, tabbing a team-best 76 and securing a tie for sixth place. Fellow senior
Hannah Trinh followed behind her with a score of nine-over 80.
Filippa Schulze Doering had the lowest score of the Adelphi newcomers, shooting an 82 and tying for 16th place, good enough for fourth amongst all freshmen.
New faces
Lauren Jaskier and
Jenny Kim also took to the tee box during the tournament, shooting an 87 and 92, respectively.
Amy McCaffrey wrapped up the scoring for the Panthers with an individual score of 18-over 89.
Head Coach
Bill Bresnan and his Adelphi squad will be back in action next weekend (Sep. 29-30), when they compete at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y.
