Garden City, N.Y. - As superb as he was at second base in 2023, Adelphi University senior infielder
Anthony Cipri was recently praised by College Sports Communicators for his academic merits with an Academic All-District citation.
Cipri, who departs from Adelphi with a dual bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management, is set to attend law school in the fall, after attaining a 3.875 cumulative grade-point average.
A career that saw great success in an Adelphi uniform, Cipri earned his first career NE10 All-Conference honor in 2023, after tallying a lifetime-best 63 hits for a .375 batting average.
Cipri's .375 average only trailed
Alec Maag's .380 for the team lead and placed among the Top 10 hitters in the conference.
The four-year starter set career-highs in slugging (.500) and on-base percentage (.412), to go along with seven doubles and 33 runs scored. He nearly matched last year's power numbers, jolting four homers and driving in 25 RBIs.
A player who never slugged higher than .400 in his first two seasons at Adelphi, Cipri's final two years saw nine home runs and 56 RBIs of his career ten homers and 64 RBIs.
With three postseason appearances on his career resume, Cipri hit splendidly on the grandest stage, batting .395 (19-for-48) with two homers, four doubles and 16 RBIs in 13 playoff games.
