Philadelphia, PA - In her first time ever competing at the prestigous and historic Penn Relays,
Kyria Moore polished off a second place finish in the College Women's Hammer Throw, with a new personal best toss of 59.24 meters.
Her launch not only stands as a personal best for her, it will live on in the Adelphi record books as she continues to rewrite those pages in her first year with the Panthers. Just over one meter better than her NCAA Provisional mark, Moore ranks seventh in NCAA Division II in the specialty, after finishing the indoor season as the second best weight throw.
Moore was one of three-non Division I competitors accepted into the College Women's Hammer Throw at this year's event. She finished second to a senior from Harvard University who won the finals with a toss of 61.47. All nine competitors in the finals were from the second flight of action.
Moore and the rest of the program will reset following the rest of the weekend and prepare for the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships, scheduled to start Friday, May 5 at Mark A. Ouellette Stadium, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University.
