Hibbs Continues To Rack Up NE10 Pitcher Of The Week Awards, Brings Home Fifth This Season

4/24/2023 1:30:00 PM

Mansfield, Mass- Lindsey Hibbs has done it again, as her 15.0 innings of shutout pitching last week has earned her another trophy in the case, winning Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time, the league office announced on Monday.

In all of her shutout softball on the week, she allowed only six hits, hit one with a pitch, and walked none. She also had a combined 34 strikeouts between her two starts, upping her season total to 292 and moving her into fourth place in the NE10 single-season strikeout leaderboard. Only Sarah Harrison's 2012 season for LeMoyne (312) and Breanne Gleason's two seasons for New Haven in 2009 and 2010 (328 and 335 respectively) have seen more K's in NE10 history.

Her ERA was lowered to a NE10 leading 0.65 as well, as well as notching two more wins to increase her season total to 20. Her arm also aided Adelphi into first place in the NE10, a standing so crucial for the conference tournament hosting implications.

The 'Cats have six conference games to end the season this week on three doubleheaders, starting with Pace on Tuesday, and rounding out the weekend with LeMoyne on Friday and The College of Saint Rose in the season finale. All of these games will be in Garden City at Janet L. Ficke Field.

First pitch for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Setters is set for 2:30 p.m.
