Bellport, N.Y. - With many of its starters sitting, the Adelphi University men's golf team still won the Long Island Collegiate Championship this weekend by nearly seventy strokes at Bellport Country Club, hosted by St. Joseph's College of Long Island.

The Panthers carded a 23-over 591 across the two days of competition, including a 9-over 293 on the final 18 holes.

Each of Adelphi's three leading scorers -- all who led the Top 3 in the clubhouse -- shot close to par during the weekend, led by Alec Ramos' 1-over 143.

After finishing 4-over in his opening round, Johnny Solari bounced back off his stellar performance at the Spartan Shootout to score 1-under on the back eighteen.

Andrew Brunozzi produced a fine second round with two birdies and ultimately shot a 6-over 148 for the weekend.

Thomas Fasano sank two birdies over his final nine holes for a 155, resulting in a Top 10 finish for the 'Cats.

Head Coach David Mattana and his Adelphi squad are in action again today and tomorrow (Apr. 17-18) at the LIU Shark Invitational at Brookville Country Club.
