Mansfield, Mass. - A four-time NE10 Rookie of the Week a year ago,
Marko Jovanovic has snatched up his first NE10 Player of the Week honor of the 2022-23 season, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Despite a slow start to his season, Jovanovic faced off with the reigning NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year on Saturday.
In what was prepped as the must-see match at No. 1 singles, Jovanovic handed SNHU's Jonathan Berling his first-ever NE10 singles loss, in straight sets (7-5, 6-3).
Not only did he bounce back from last year's three-set loss to Berling, Jovanovic helped deliver the 'Cats their first win over Southern New Hampshire since 2015.
Jovanovic carries an 8-7 singles record thus far, but stands at a perfect 2-0 to-date in NE10 play.
The Panthers return to NE10 competition tomorrow (Mar. 29), with a 10:30 a.m. start at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.
