Mansfield, Mass. - Not only do they work in unison on the field, Adelphi University's
Alexa Sacripante and
Lindsey Hibbs have been named the NE10 Player and Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Sacripante earns her first-ever weekly recognition from the conference, while Hibbs has now added a third NE10 Pitcher of the Week honor to her 2023 resume.
Each of Hibbs' three NE10 Pitcher of the Week awards have come on the strength of a no-hitter by the reigning All-American. It happened again.
Only 24 hours ago, Hibbs punched out fourteen more batters to increase her conference-leading strikeout total and held SNHU hitless in a 6-0 victory.
Hibbs has impressively tallied double-digit strikeouts in nine of her ten starts. As a result, Hibbs leads all of NCAA Division II to-date in strikeouts per seven innings (13.9) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (18.0).
Speaking of leading the country, Sacripante's average of 0.60 doubles per game currently headlines all of NCAA Division II.
Over the past week, Sacripante roped four team doubles and drove in six RBIs, while batting at a team-high .500 clip.
In just the last three games alone, Sacripante went 8-for-11 (,727) with three runs scored, five extra-base hits and five RBIs. On Saturday, Sacripante finished a home run short of the cycle, as part of a 4-for-4 day against bitter NE10 rival Saint Anselm College.
Sacripante, Hibbs and the Panthers are back in action tomorrow (Mar. 28) in a head-to-head showdown with Wilmington University for the first time since last year's NCAA Division II East Super Regional. First pitch from Janet L. Ficke Field is set for 2:30 p.m.
