Kings Point, N.Y. - In its penultimate action before the new year, the Adelphi University swimming and diving program took to the lanes at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday and was highlighted by several victories.

Emily Munayirji was responsible for two top-finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke at 1:01.25 and 2:14.44, both which stand as season-bests for the sophomore.

Wins for rookie Aizel Pusing  came in the form of the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. In the breaststroke race, her time of 1:11.08 was a new personal best and is just four seconds shy of the Adelphi record, held by Kristen Tzavelis (1:07.47).

On the men's side, Cooper Rivers won both his individual events - the 200 IM and 200 freestyle - while swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay to help the quartet place second. Joined by Ryan Kakimseit, Connor Singer and Eric Slavin, their time of 1:34.84 is just 0.00.43 seconds from the record set a season ago and is the second best time in the conference thus far.

Singer picked up an individual top swim in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 59.10 for a season best, but still four seconds off his personal best which he swam at last year's conference championship meet (56.95).

In the 200 yard butterfly, newcomer Jake Chee-A-Tow won the race in a time of 1:56.14 for a personal best, which moves into the top spot among NE10 competition by over three seconds.

Rounding out the action, Kakimseit placed second in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events, breaking his record in the former, with a new time of 51.28.

The squad will hit the lanes at the Nassau Aquatic Center to kick off the month of December at the annual ECAC Winter Championships.
