Townsend, Mass - A strong performance by
Mason Rivera helped the Adelphi University men's golf team place ninth at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational.
The Panthers concluded the two-day outing with a 42-over 602, and finished among the Par 5 team leaders with an average score of 2-over-par.
Rivera, who tied for fourth place, beat his previous 36-hole career-high from last year's Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational by twelve strokes with a 1-under 139.
Additionally, Rivera shot a career-best 68 over his final round, which also beat his high watermark of 71 at last year's Le Moyne Fall Invitational.
Filip Wetterqvist carded a tie for 38th place and finished with a 14-over 154, holing five birdies in tournament play.
A one-stroke difference separated
Andrew Brunozzi and
Alec Ramos, who tied for 44th and 47th place, respectively.
Francis Lanuza placed in a tie for 69th, while tallying a two-day score of 167.
Adelphi will next compete at the 2022 NE10 Championship, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 1-2) in Endicott, N.Y. at the En Joie Golf Club.
