Mansfield, Mass. - The Northeast-10 released its All-Conference awards for women's golf on Wednesday afternoon, and Adelphi's
Ilaria Ponziani and
Emily McKenna were voted to the first and third team, respectively.
After a record-breaking first season in the Brown and Gold, sophomore
Ilaria Ponziani was a First Team All-Conference selection. She set new program records for 18 and 36 holes with her scores 69 (18) and 144 (36) at the Senior Showdown hosted by Stonehill on Apr. 25. Ponziani walked away with her first individual title from the same tournament after placing first in a pool of 24 student-athletes. Additionally, she posted Top-5 finishes at all nine outings during the 2021-22 year.
The four-time NE10 Rookie of the Week is joined by junior
Emily McKenna who received Third Team All-Conference accolades. McKenna was the top finisher at the Saint Rose Invitational on Sept. 13 as she helped the team to its first-ever first place finish since the program's inaugural season in 2014. She shot her way to four Top-10 finishes and one NE10 Player of the Week honor.
Ponziani and McKenna are joined by 13 other All-Conference honorees. This year's Player and Rookie of the Year was awarded to Kesinee Prukmathakul of Franklin Pierce, and head coach of the Ravens, Tyler Bishop was named Coach of the Year.
