Mansfield, Mass. - As one of only three teams in the NE10 to conclude the regular season with a winning conference record, the Adelphi University men's tennis team has earned the No. 3 seed in this week's NE10 Championship.

Only Le Moyne (7-0), Southern New Hampshire (6-1) and Adelphi (5-2) were the only schools to carry over-.500 records in NE10 play in 2022.

The third-seeded Panthers will host No. 6 seed Bentley University in first-round action Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 26) at 1 p.m. from the Adelphi Tennis Courts in Garden City, N.Y.

While rain showers do loom in the forecast, the intent is to have a live stream of the match on NE10NOW.tv. If for any reason the outdoor courts are deemed unplayable, the match will be moved indoors to Point Set Racquet Club and no broadcast will occur.

Only a couple of weeks ago, Adelphi traveled to Waltham, Mass. for its regular-season meeting with Bentley and prevailed 5-2 in convincing fashion.

All four of Adelphi's singles victories that day came in straight sets. The Panthers also swept all three doubles matches, including a 7-6 (7-2) tiebreaker at the top flight.

Adelphi and Bentley are an even 7-7 since the two programs began playing one another as conference rivals in 2010. However, the Panthers are winners of their last three contests against Bentley and six of their previous eight.

The two teams actually met in the first round of the NE10 Tournament last season, which Adelphi won 4-2.

All NE10 Championship matches will be played at higher seeds. The tournament final is scheduled to take place this Saturday, April 30.
