Mansfield, Mass. - For their impressive performances over the weekend, three individuals from Adelphi track and field have earned inclusion on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Gabrielle Griffin and
Khalil Chester made the grade with their top finishes at the Wilton Wright Invitational while
Matthew Wenz secured his spot with a second-place showing in the Decathlon at the Osprey Open and Multi Invite.
Griffin raced to a first place finish at the Wilton Wright Invitational on Saturday, besting the field in a time of 1:04.97 in the 400 hurdles event. That time currently stands as the second fastest in the NE10 and the quickest from this weekend's action.
Wenz completed a full decathlon over the weekend, placing second overall in a field of eight competitors. He placed first in the 400 dash, clocking in at 52.66 and topped the group in the discus with a launch of 38.82m. He placed second in three other events for a career-best 5188 points.
Chester's 6.90 meter leap in the long jump event topped the field of 32 competitors for a new career-best distance for the sophomore at the Wilton Wright Invitational. That mark currently stands as the second best in the NE10
