Mansfield, Mass. - On Monday, Adelphi University baseball players Michael Draskin and Jack Wishner were tabbed the NE10 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Both honorees stuffed the stat sheet in a full week of games, which saw the Panthers go a perfect 6-0.

Draskin's week got started with a two-homer game in the rubber game of a three-game set with No. 11 Southern New Hampshire University. Both of his two-run homers either gave or added to the Adelphi lead in a 16-4 win -- the largest margin of victory against SNHU in program history.

He ultimately batted a team-leading .545 on the week and slugged at an astonishing 1.045 clip. In addition to his two home runs, Draskin collected five doubles, seven runs scored and nine RBI. Seven of his 12 hits on the week went for extra bases.

Out of the No. 9 hole in the lineup, Wishner posted a stellar .391 average with two RBI. The freshman only struck out once across 23 total at-bats and went errorless in the field as the team's starting shortstop.

In the team's opening conference series with AIC, Wishner batted .467, which included a four-hit day with two runs scored in the series opener.

Draskin, Wishner and the Panthers round out their nine-game homestand tomorrow (Mar. 29), when they host Queens College at 3:30 p.m. at William J. Bonomo Memorial Field in Garden City, N.Y.
