Haworth, N.J. - The Adelphi University men's golf team kicked-off its spring season at the Battle at the Beech tournament hosted by Dominican College on Monday and Tuesday.
The Panthers finished ninth overall with a two-round team score of 662. The team shot a collective 327 on Round 1, and a 335 on Round 2.
Freshman
Mason Rivera led Adelphi with a thirty-six hole card of 161 (78-83). He finished in a tie for 17th place, just six slots above teammate
Thomas Fasano who ended the tournament in a three-way tie for 22nd.Â
Fasano posted scores of 80 and 82 for a total of 162. Trailing him was
Alec Ramos with a 170 (84-86).
Andrew Brunozzi (88-84) and
Luke Bucci (85-87) both shot 172. Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers was
Kobe Currie with a 187 (98-89).Â
Post University took home top team honors with a team score of 620 at the conclusion of the two days. Three Northeast-10 teams - Bentley, Assumption and American International - all tied for second place to round out the top scorers.Â
Adelphi will return to the links again Mar. 28-29 for another two-day tournament hosted by Dominican College. The Charge Challenge will be played at the Solider Hill Golf Course in Emerson, New Jersey.Â
