Charlottesville, VA - It was windy conditions for the first outdoor meet of the 2022 season, as
Isabel Marsh kicked off the year at the UVA Open on Saturday, hosted by the University of Virginia.
Her time of 2:19.84 in the 800 meter race was good enough to place fourth, falling about eight seconds shy of the top competitor from Virginia, who crossed the finish line in 2:11.50. Marsh was the fastest sophomore in the heat, cominf in after two seniors and a junior.
Former men's field athlete Angelo Fradelakis was also in attendance, after transferring to UVA at the conclusion of last outdoor season. In his first outing for the Cavaliers, he launched the hammer 61.24m, falling three meters short of his personal best during his time at Adelphi, which was a distance of 64.02m.
The track and field program will compete as a team next weekend at the Monmouth Season Opener, starting Friday, Mar. 25.
