Mansfield, Mass. - In an outstanding weekend for Adelphi University men's and women's swimming and diving, several members of the teams have been recognized on the Northeast-10 Week 7 report, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

For the first time this season, Connor Singer has earned Rookie of the Week accolades and the men's 400 medley relay squad has been named Relay of the Week.

Singer impressed in the lanes this weekend at the ECAC Winter Championships, putting together new program records in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke races. In each outing he improved, breaking both records in his prelim attempts while swimming faster in the finals. In the 100 breast, he clocked in at 57.11 and the in 200, was responsible for a 2:06.32 finish, posting the best times in the NE10 this season. He also swam a leg of the 200 medley relay (1:35.58) and 400 medley relay (3:28.52) that put up top finishes in the conference over the weekend.

The squad of Singer, Cooper Rivers, Brian Klotsche and Daniel Dalrymple set two new program records over the weekend in both the 200 and 400 medley relays. Their 400 finish of 3:28.52 was better by over three seconds than the 2019 record and was the fastest finish in the NE10 this season.

Also earning individual recognition on the weekly honor roll is Rivers and Delaney Noel

Noel put up four different personal bests over the weekend at the ECAC Winter Championships, all in varying distances of freestyle. Her 1650 race clocked in at 18:32.91 which lands in the top five this season in the specialty. She also completed the 200 in 2:05.15 and the 500 in 5:30.55.

Rivers entered five different individual events (and assisted in the medley relays) over the weekend, making the finals in each while erasing the program record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:07.85. He posted a personal best in both the prelim and the finals of that event, and two season bests in the 200 IM, ultimately clocking in at 1:53.79 in the finals race. Hi 50 freestyle time of 21.47 is .29 off the Adelphi record and a new personal best as well.

The program will be back in action this Friday, Dec. 9 when they host Queensborough Community College in dual meet action, starting at 3:00 p.m. The first 20 fans in attendance will be given the choice of an Adelphi branded pair of crew socks or winter gloves.
