Indianapolis, Ind. - For the third year in a row, the Adelphi University Department of Athletics has been tabbed as a recipient of the distinguished NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence.
A select group of only 44 institutions were bestowed the honor in 2022, after achieving an Academic Success Rate of 90 percent or higher in the latest NCAA cohort data.
"I am excited to honor and recognize the 44 schools for this prestigious award," said Steven Shirley, President of Minot State University and Chair of the Division II Presidents Council. "It is a testament to their hard work, commitment and dedication to achieving academic excellence."
The NE10 continues to be the benchmark of Division II ASR. with a record-tying graduation rate of 89 percent that paced all NCAA Division II conferences for the sixth-consecutive year.
In the release of the 2012-15 cohort report, Adelphi was among the Top 25 schools in Division II with an ASR of 92 percent -- more than surpassing the national average of 76 percent.
Each of Adelphi's 23 programs also exceeded the national average, with five of those teams attaining a perfect 100 ASR. They were men's and women's golf, women's basketball, bowling and volleyball.
The NCAA Graduation Success Rate data shows the percentage of student-athletes receiving athletics aid and earning a degree within six years of entering college. The latest report is based on freshmen who matriculated in 2015 and transfers who matriculated between 2012 and 2015.
