Mansfield, Mass. - The Adelphi University Department of Athletics has found itself in another neck-in-neck race for the NE10 Presidents' Cup, following the announcement of the Fall 2022 standings by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The winners of four straight Cups between 2013-17, Adelphi has posted four second-place finishes in the last five years.
The race couldn't be tighter after the fall, as four schools are separated from the top spot by only 7.5 points. Adelphi trails the current leader -- Franklin Pierce -- by a difference of just 3.5 points (79.5-76.0).
Adelphi is currently projected for a maximum of 242 points -- which has the 'Cats running second to Bentley's 243 points -- by year's end.
By virtue of a third-place finish or better in the NE10 regular-season standings, the Adelphi field hockey, women's soccer and volleyball teams all pulled in double-digit points.
Additionally, the women's cross country team's runner-up finish (best since 2012) at the NE10 Championships tacked on a headlining twelve points to Adelphi's total.
