Field Hockey Honors Five on NE10 All-Conference Team

11/17/2022 3:00:00 PM

Mansfield, Mass. - As the NE10 Tournament continues on for the Panthers, the Adelphi University field hockey team had five student-athletes recognized as All-Conference performers, the league announced on Thursday afternoon.

Leading the All-Conference selections for the Panthers were graduate students Kaylee Deleva and Bianca Bachisin, who were both named to the First Team. Last year, Deleva earned NE10 Player of the Year accolades, becoming the first player in program history to receive this prestigious award.

Deleva has tallied 14 goals this season, putting herself in a tie for eighth place in all of Division II in that category. She also ranks second on the team in points with 29 (sixth in NE10).

Bachisin started off the year with a goal and an assist in the team's season opener. Serving as the key inserter on penalty corners for the 'Cats, Bachisin has tallied ten goals and six assists for 26 points, which included her first collegiate hat trick against SCSU earlier this season.

Also receiving honors this year were Amanda Lee, Giana McKeough and Mirthe Karstens.

Lee was named to the NE10 All-Conference Second Team. Making her debut for the Panthers in 2022, Lee was a force on the attacking side - joining her teammate Deleva in the starting lineup every game this year. The sophomore earned her second collegiate hat trick against Franklin Pierce earlier this month. She notched 13 goals and eight assists while leading the Brown and Gold in points with 34 thus far.

McKeough was honored to the Third Team. Her 2022 campaign has consisted of three goals and a team-high-tying eight assists. The senior picked up a multi-goal game of the season at home versus SCSU, while also tallying up a multi-assist game on the road against Franklin Pierce.

Karstens was honored on the All-Rookie Team, making her the first Panther to receive the distinction since 2019, when Bachisin and McKeough were named.

A few games into the season, the goalie from Berghem, Netherlands was named NE10 Goalie and Rookie of the Week and NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week, after collecting 29 saves in two games for the 'Cats in September. This season, she has 103 saves (sixth in NE10) and holds a .780 save percentage (third in NE10).

The Panthers will travel to Manchester, N.H. to play in an NE10 Tournament semifinal against #1 Saint Anselm at 4:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 18).
