Pleasantville, N.Y. - While the men secured their second straight victory, the women fell to Pace University on Friday afternoon, as the teams competed in dual meet action.
Led by top individual finishes from
Brian Klotsche,
Timothy Yeung,
Cooper Rivers,
Daniel Dalrymple, and
Connor Singer, the Adelphi men scored 181 to Pace's 97. Klotsche topped the field in both the 100 and 200 backstroke while swimming the first leg of the men's 200 yard medley relay, in addition to a 54.11 time in the 100 butterfly event. He was joined by Singer, Rivers and anchor leg Dalrymple to finish in a time of 1:39.13.
Yeung placed first in the 1000 and 500 freestyle races and helped the 200 freestyle relay finish second. He swam the last leg of the event with a 22.81 time. Rivers took gold in the 400 IM, 200 freestyle and 200 butterfly to cap a near perfect day for the California native.
Dalrymple also finished with top swims in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, nearly matching last week's result in the former at 22.79. As for the 100 race, he shaved .01 seconds off his time from a week ago to place first in 50.32 seconds.
Rounding out the best finishes of the afternoon, Singer placed first in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:13.05, which stands as a new personal best in the specialty and is just four seconds from the Adelphi record.
On the women's side, first year
Emily Munayirji was responsible for top swims in the 200 freestyle (2:03.28) and the 200 backstroke (2:15.28) while also putting up a time of 5:02.40 to place first in the 400 IM. Her time in the IM was 12 seconds faster then Rose Clark from Pace, who clocked in at 5:14.40.
Sophomore
Delaney Noel took a second off her 1000 freestyle time from a week ago to place second at Pace in a time of 11:32.42 as she also placed second in the 500 freestyle race.
On the diving board, reigning NE10 Diver of the Week placed second in both the one and three meter events, as
Frank Genna put up numbers on the men's side in both. He scored 138.75 from the one meter while adding another three points on the men's side with a score of 104.62 from the three meter board.
The swim programs are back in action next Friday, Nov. 4, when the head to SUNY New Paltz for a 4:00 p.m. meeting with the Hawks.
