Mansfield, Mass - On Thursday afternoon, the league office addressed that the Adelphi University women's golf team is projected to finish second overall at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at The Ranch Golf Club.
This is the second consecutive year the Panthers have been informed that it is predicted to place in second at the upcoming Championship. The team recorded a first-place vote for the first time in program history.
The group started off the fall season with a first place tie at the Le Moyne Invitational and has placed third in its last two matches.
Ilaria Ponziani has placed ninth or better in the Brown and Gold's matches this fall season and looks to continue her success on the green this upcoming weekend. Alongside teammate
Emily McKenna who has competed at each other of Adelphi's tournaments this season and finished as high as seventh place.
For the fourth year in a row, Franklin Pierce is voted as the favorite with six first-place votes and 36 total votes.
The teams will start on Sunday (Oct. 16) at 11:00 a.m. and Monday (Oct. 17), at 9:00 a.m. tee times. The two-round tournament will be played at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, Mass.
