Keene, N.H. - Adelphi University men's golf junior,
Andrew Brunozzi, captured his first career individual title on Tuesday at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational at the par-72 Keene Country Club.
The team secured a sixth place finish among 14 teams with total score of 597 (303-294).
Brunozzi is the first Panther to earn top individual honors since Nick Kelapire in 2017. The junior sat tied for first at the conclusion of the first 18 after shooting a one-over 71. He improved his score by one stroke on the back 18 to secure the top 36-hole score of 141 (71-70). Brunozzi had nine birdies and made par on 22 of 36 holes, while setting a pair of career-bests with his single and double round scores of 70 and 141.
Also with 22 pars for the Panthers was
Luke Bucci, who finished in a tie for 26th with teammate
Mason Rivera. The pair carded a 151 (77-74).
Rounding out the scoring for Adelphi were freshmen
Alec Ramos and
Kobe Currie. Ramos shot 85 and 76 for a two-round total of 161. Behind him, was
Kobe Currie with a 165 (78-87).
The Panthers will be back on the course for the NE10 Championship at the Concord Country Club on Oct. 4-5.
