Fradelakis Breaks Another School Record at UAlbany Winter Classic

Staten Island, N.Y.- For the second time this year, Evangelos Fradelakis of the Adelphi University men's track and field team, set a school record in the men's weight throw.

Less than a month after breaking the school record at the Spartan Invite earlier this season, Fradelakis repeated with a mark of 16.73 meters, placing seventh at the University at Albany Winter Classic.

The meet, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday, brought forward a plethora of career-best marks for the Panthers.

The highest finish of the day came for Kiara Birch took sixth with a career-best time of 9.37 in the 60-meter hurdles. 

Stand out sophomore, Gabrielle Buissereth, set a PR of 25.50 in the women's 200-meter dash, less than a second behind the school record of 24.81. Buissereth currently ranks no. 5 in the conference for the event. 

Other career-best performances for the women came from Alexis Roth who finished in 1:02.43 in the 400-meter race, and Jenna Piller, with a time of 8.50 in the 60 meter dash.

Katherine Marsh and Grace Minikel closed out career-highs for the women in their rookie campaigns, finishing 5:15.70 and 5:34.75 in the mile, respectively. This pushes Marsh up to no. 7 in the Northeast-10. 

The men's team also raked in a series of career-high performances on the day. Marvin Hodge finished the men's 60-meter dash in 7.34. Sufiyan Sarguroh and Mac Bailey each had personal-bests in the 400-meter race, with Sarguroh clocking in at 53.32, and Bailey at 56.39. For distance, Thomas Roulette also had a four second personal best, with a time of 4:30.34. 

In the field, Greg Lucas and Steven Doerler, threw for 10.03 and 11.22 meters, respectively in the shot put. Sophomore, Tyler Wilkins, had a mark of 13.39 meter in the triple jump. 

Adelphi returns for a full weekend of track and field as it competes at both the Fastrack National Invitational on February 14, and the David Hemery Valentine Invite on the 14th and 15th in Boston.
