Men's Golf Closes Out Season at Bentley Newport National Classic

 Middletown, R.I. - The Adelphi University men's golf team closed out its season with a 10th-place finish at the Bentley Newport National Classic over the weekend, bringing its 2018 season to a close.

Nick Kelapire finished first for the Panthers, shooting a score of 158 after two rounds on the course as Adelphi's lead finisher for the eighth time in eighth tournaments this year. 

The graduate student posted 80 on the first round score, and later improving by two strokes to mark 78 on the scoreboard for a 30th-place finish overall. Jack Conlon came around next for the Brown and Gold, scoring a low of 78 after the first 18 holes en route to a finish in 45th. Devon Neudorf, Brett Sadinsky, and Nicholas MacLean followed Conlon and Kelapire in the finish as Adelphi's five competitors.

Babson College and Dominican College tied for the top slots, scoring equal marks of 590 after 36-holes. Dominican claimed first after round one with a team total of 298, followed by Babson in round two with a tournament low score of 289.
