Flushing, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team fell to the East Region's second-best team in the Queens (N.Y.) College Knights on Thursday afternoon, 8-1.
The Knights (8-0) remained perfect on the season thanks to a dominating display which began in doubles, as the home team took all three matches by 8-2 set scores indoors at the QC Tennis Center to move ahead in the match.
Adelphi (1-4) had a bright spot at No.5 singles, as freshman
Luke Attride-Stirling scored a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Hugo Andrade for the Panthers' lone point in the match.
After facing off against the second-ranked team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region rankings in Queens, the Panthers will next face the top team in the region in Concordia (N.Y.) in a 4 p.m. contest on Saturday, March 17.
