Bronxville, N.Y. - Playing against its second regionally-ranked foe in the spring season, and first appearing in the national polls, the Adelphi University men's tennis team was defeated by 25th-ranked Concordia College (N.Y.) on Saturday afternoon at the Meyers Tennis Center, 9-0.

Adelphi (1-5) battled up and down its lineup across nine matches, though they were defeated by the East Region's No.1 team. The eighth-ranked doubles team of Eymeric Chevalier and Alessandro Evangelisti led the way at the top of the lineup for the Clippers (4-3), as Evangelisti also scored a two-set win in singles as well over Matteo Cannavera.

The tightest match for Adelphi in doubles came at No.3, as David Robres de Veciana and Ilya Kalabukhau fell 8-6, while Kalabukhau and Luke Attride-Stirling each pushed their singles foes to tight first and second sets, respectively, before succumbing. 

Adelphi returns to NE10 action on Tuesday, March 20, with a 12 p.m. match at Le Moyne College.
