Men's Tennis Opens NE10 Play with 6-3 Win Over Le Moyne

Oceanside, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University men's tennis team opened Northeast-10 Conference play with a 6-3 victory over the visiting Dolphins of Le Moyne College, 6-3, at the Point Set Racket Club on Thursday afternoon.

All three doubles matches went Adelphi's way to give the Brown and Gold a 3-0 lead in the match, but it wasn't without a fight. Both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles saw a margin of just one break of serve in the end, as the Panther pair of Matteo Cannavera and Uladzislau Litvinchuk took an 8-6 decision at top flight. Wrapping up action was Connor Dove and David Robres de Veciana at No. 3, as they edged the match in a tiebreak, 9-8(5) for the 2-1 lead.

Four victories in singles clinched the match for Adelphi, as Matteo Cannavera led the way at No.1 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 victory. Adelphi's first point in singles play came courtesy of Uladzislau Litvinchuk, who dropped just three games in his win at No. 2 singles, before David Robres de Veciana also won at No. 6 losing just three games, while Roey Heymann rallied from a set down to win at No. 3
