Men's Tennis Upends Assumption, 8-1

West Hempstead, N.Y. -- Paced by five straight-set singles victories, the Adelphi University men's tennis team recorded a Northeast-10 Conference win over the Greyhounds of Assumption College, 8-1, at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis on Wednesday.

Adelphi (6-5, 5-1 NE-10) swept all three doubles matches en route to establishing a lead in the match. The matches ended in reverse order, as Sander Brenner and Daniel Khodosh picked up Adelphi's first point with an 8-2 win at No. 3, before Roey Heymann and Connor Dove recorded an 8-3 win at No. 2. The closest match in doubles came at the top flight, but it too went the way of Adelphi in the end, with Matteo Cannavera and Uladzislau Litvinchuk taking an 8-5 decision.

Khodosh was dominant at No. 5 singles for the Panthers as well, dropping just one game in taking a 6-1, 6-0 win before Brenner clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3. Cannavera and Heymann also recorded wins in two sets at No. 1 and No. 5, while Dove recorded a pro set, 8-3 victory at No. 6 to account for Adelphi's other points. The Greyhounds' lone victory came at No. 2, as Ryan Foster rallied past Litvinchuk after losing the first set.
