Men's Tennis Edges Le Moyne, 5-4

Syracuse, N.Y. -- A pair of freshmen made the difference for the Adelphi University men's tennis team on Tuesday, as Daniel Khodosh and Connor Dove helped earn the Panthers two points in a 5-4 victory over the Le Moyne College Dolphins.

Adelphi (4-5, 4-1 NE-10) and Le Moyne (3-7, 1-3 NE-10) each picked up a point in regulation fashion in doubles, as James Gayvert and Hallam Doney bested Uladzislau Litvinchuk and Sander Brenner by just one break of serve at No. 1, 8-6, before Sebastian Zapata and Roey Heymann picked up an 8-5 win at No. 2. The third flight proved decisive when determining which team would head into singles in the lead, and Khodosh and Dove held on to win an extended 9-7 pro set at No. 3 to take the point for the Brown and Gold.

The Panthers and Dolphins evenly split the six singles matches, as Brenner and Heymann each picked up two set wins for Adelphi at No. 2 and No 4, respectively, with Brenner being forced to a second set tiebreak by Jason Barton. However, Khodosh's result proved to make the difference at No. 5, as he rallied for the win after dropping the first set against Benjamin Spoor, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
