Worcester, Mass.- With a total of nine school records broken, the Adelphi University Men and Women's Swimming and Diving team has something to be proud of walking away from the Northeast-10 Championships this weekend.

The Assumption Greyhounds captured the women's Northeast-10 Championship with a total of 796.5 points, while the Panthers earned an eighth place finish with 195 points. On the men's side of the championship, Adelphi racked up 235.5 points, which was good enough for sixth overall, while Southern Connecticut State came away with the conference title thanks to 884 points.
Sophomore,
John Rotolo, kicked off the final day in the 1,650-yard freestyle. He posted a final time of 17:00.86 and shaved his time down by 12 seconds in this event.

Senior captain,
Zachary Mazur, followed Rotolo up in the 100 free posting a lifetime best time of 47.25. His finish was good for seventh place in this event.

Sophomore,
JV Sarabia, also placed seventh in the 200 breast finishing with a time of 2:13.05. Junior captain,
Peter D'Ortenzio, also put together a strong outing in the 200 fly finishing fifth with a final time of 1:54.02.

To end the evening right, the men and women's 400 free relay teams broke the school record for best time in this event. The men, featuring
Zachary Mazur,
Gerry Theophilidis,
John Bellotti and
Peter D'Ortenzio, posted a final time of 3:10.12. The women, including
Kelly Whelan,
Kelly Reyes,
Danielle Dreiss and
Heather Miller, finished with a time of 3:44.71.

This weekend was successful for the teams as they come back to Garden City with new records for the school, as well as personal bests set in the water. Their next meet, the ECAC Championships, is scheduled for the weekend of February 26th.
