Nashville, Tenn. - The Adelphi University bowling team was recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association as one of 23 squads to compile a team grade point average of 3.2 or better for the 2014-15 school year. The Panthers ranked third behind this year's NTCA All Scholars' Team Award winners, LIU Brooklyn, by .08.
To be considered for team recognition, programs must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 for the 2014-2015 school year. There were 21 teams verified as having reached this milestone. The highest team GPA receives All Scholars Team distinction and the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn put together an impressive 3.79 team GPA to earn this year's award. Adelphi ranked third in overall GPA, behind Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State who posted identical marks, with a 3.56.
