Men's Tennis Blanks Le Moyne, 9-0

Panthers get back on track with NE-10 win.

Oceanside, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team returned to Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, March 21 when they hosted the Dolphins of Le Moyne College indoors at the Point Set Racket Club. After moving ahead 3-0 after doubles, the Panthers clinched a 9-0 victory after dropping just one set in singles.

Adelphi remained perfect in NE-10 play (3-3, 3-0 NE-10) by sweeping all three doubles matches against the Dolphins (5-7, 3-3 NE-10) to move ahead in the match. Sander Brenner and Uladzislau Litvinchuk did not allow their opponents a game at No. 3, winning the pro set 8-0, before Matteo Cannavera and Chiwete Njokanma chipped in an 8-3 win at top flight. The Panthers completed the sweep at No. 2 doubles when Justin Vijungco and Sebastian Zapata won the closest match of the three, taking the set 8-6.

The Panthers won five of six singles matches in straight sets, dropping no more than three games in any of those sets, to put the finishing touches on the victory while freshman Cannavera came out on top in the toughest match of the day.
