Garden City, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University swim team was set back at the hands the Setters of Pace University on Friday afternoon, with the women dropping a 69-26 decision and the men falling 72-22.
On the women's side of things, the Panthers claimed victory in the 100-yard IM behind a 1:06:06 finsh from
Jacqueline Vani, who out-touched Pace's Cassandra Muldoon by just six one-hundredths of a second.
Heather Miller also touched the wall first for the Brown and Gold in the 100-yard freestyle, picking up five points for the team with a 57.29 finals time. In the 500-yard freestyle,
Danielle Dreiss also took home a win for the women's side, nearly two seconds clear of the top Pace finisher.
For the Adelphi men,
Peter D'Ortenzio placed second in the 100-yard freestyle, while
John Bellotti also touched in second in the 100-yard backstroke as
Aaron Giles-Jeffer picked up a point with third. in the 50-yard freestyle,
Zachary Mazur and Spencer Gangley clocked in second and third, while
Josef Victor Sarabia also clocked in third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The teams return to the pool on Thursday, November 12 when they travel to the tri-meet hosted by Queens and Baruch Colleges.
