Rebecca Gotterbarn and 
Lena Sorrentino finished in the top 30 in a field of 137 bowlers at the UMES Hawk Classic hosted by the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore this past weekend. Gotterbarn led all Panthers with a 197.17 average in individual play to come in 16th overall, while Sorrentino posted a 189.0 average to finish in 26th. Over the three days, the Panthers posted an 8-7 record overall including a 3-0 sweep of Sunday's play en route to an 11th place finish in the 20-team field.
On day one of the tournament on Friday, the Panthers picked up Baker victories over Vanderbilt and Tulane by 1,007-924 and 949-892 margins, respectively. On the second day, Gotterbarn bowled a high of 222 in two victories against Coppin State and Howard University while Sorrentino chipped in a 236 against Morgan State in a 869-833 Adelphi victory. 
Laura Zaugg also competed in all six traditional matches for the Panthers on day two, posting a 169.50 average to finish just outside the top 50 in 54th, while 
Kristina Etergineoso rolled an afternoon-high 211 against Coppin State. 
On the tournament's final day on Sunday, Adelphi posted a 3-0 record, defeating St. Francis Brooklyn twice as well as Coppin State to finish in 11th place for the tournament. In the first round, the Panthers were anchored by Sorrentino's 236 as well as a round-high 245 from 
Erica Novak to defeat the Terriers 4-3 and advance to play Coppin State, which had lost its match earlier in the day. In the second round, 
Etergineoso's 197 was enough to lead the team to a 4-0 sweep in the head-to-head round, before the Panthers were again drawn against the squad from Brooklyn in the final round. To close out the weekend, the Panthers were led this time by Zaugg, who rolled a 213, and came through a tight 4-3 victory to end the weekend on a high. 
The Panthers return to action over the weekend of December 4-6, when they head to Houston, Texas for the Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State.
