Smithfield, R.I. — On Tuesday afternoon, the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) announced its Academic All-America Team, honoring 405 students from 68 NCAA bowling programs.

The Adelphi bowling team blew past its total from the previous two years, with nine members named NTCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes.

Marissa Funk, Giana Giampapa, Arianne Guaman, Gayle Lopez, Payton Hoffay, Abigail Sullivan, Raisa Tanisha, Carly Wu and Tiffany Wong all met the 3.4 grade-point average threshold to qualify for the team.

On top of the individual accomplishments, the Adelphi women's bowling team was named a 2025–26 NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team with a cumulative team GPA of 3.404. To qualify for the NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team award, programs must have maintained a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher during the 2025–26 academic year. This year, 60 teams earned the distinction, exemplifying a strong commitment to excellence both on the lanes and in the classroom.

Wong paced the team with a 3.964 grade-point average as a Mathematics major, followed closely by Funk, who ended her freshman year with a 3.96.

The NTCA All-Academic Team honors collegiate bowlers who have excelled in the classroom while competing at the highest levels of the sport. For more information, please visit NTCABowling.com.
