Men's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season with 9-0 Win Over Franklin Pierce

Garden City, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University men's tennis team closed out their brief foray into Northeast-10 Conference play this fall with a 9-0 victory over the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University early Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers (2-0, 2-0 NE-10) got three identical 8-2 doubles wins to take a commanding lead in the match, from the pairs of Matteo Cannavera/Uladzislau Litvinchuk (No. 1), Sebastian Zapata/Roey Heymann (No. 2) and Sander Brenner/Connor Dove (No. 3). 

In six singles matches, the Brown and Gold did not drop a set, led by Cannavera and his 6-3, 6-2 win at top flight. Litvinchuk came through his match at No. 2 also dropping five games, winning 6-1, 6-4, while Brenner recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3. Zapata, Heymann and Dove all dispatched their opponents in two sets as well, with Heymann winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.

"It was nice to finish off the fall season with a 9-0 win," head coach Michael Misiti stated. "We look forward to our spring season."
