Box Score Manchester, NH - After defeating the No. 1 seed in the Southwest Division Southern Connecticut earlier this week, the Panthers were granted a spot in the four-team double elimination Northeast-10 Championship tournament. In a noon game on Friday, the Adelphi University baseball program dropped a 3-1 decision to third-seeded Stonehill College on Penmen Field. The team moves to 22-22 on the season as the Skyhawks improve to 30-18 overall.
Senior captain Rich Mejia posted a perfect on-base percentage today as he went 2-for-2 at the plate and drew two walks in the loss.
Kevin Hutzel had a 2-for-4 day with one run scored. Picking up the lone RBI for the Panthers was freshman

TJ Santiago completed 7.1 innings, scattering up eight hits for three runs but struck out six Skyhawks.
After loading the bases in the top of the first, Vani grounded into a fielder's choice situation but picked up the RBI as Hutzel was able to scamper home. Senior Skyhawk pitcher Zack Soulier held the Brown and Gold scoreless for the eight remaining innings, picking up his 24th win in his career, making him Stonehill's all-time wins leader.
The Purple and White took advantage of Panther miscues as they scored one run in the bottom of the third, as Billy Karalis moved along the basepaths by way of a single followed by a failed pickoff attempt. The visitors managed to score again the the bottom of the sixth on a Dan Fratus double down the line which scored Christian Baglini and Brian Campbell.
The Panthers will play at 10 a.m. against the losing team in the New Haven/Southern New Hampshire game at Penmen Field. Each game in the Championship tournament will be broadcast on
