#2 Women's Lacrosse Turns Back Assumption, 24-3

Devan Crimi paced the Adelphi attack with a career-high nine goals.

Felicia Mills had two goals and won 11 draws controls against Assumption.
Box Score Worcester, MA - The second ranked Adelphi University women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game, on the way to a, 24-3 victory in Worcester, Massachusetts over Assumption College on Sunday, April 13. With the win, the Panthers remain spotless at 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the Northeast-10, while Assumption falls to 8-6 and 6-5 in conference action. 

Devan Crimi led the Brown and Gold with her second straight 10 point performance, this time scoring nine goals and added an assist. Alexa Froccaro and Jackie Jahelka chipped in four points, on three goals and an assist for Froccaro and four goals for Jahelka, while Rachel O'Brien put three balls into the Assumption net. 

Felicia Mills helped Adelphi control the middle of the field, with a team-high 11 draw controls, while scoring twice and Jacqueline Williams won seven draws, grabbed two ground balls and caused one turnovers. Camille Rosellini turned in a strong defensive effort with two caused turnovers and three ground balls, and Crimi gobbled up a team-high four ground balls. Taylor Hayes was credited with her 13th win of the season, making two saves.

The Brown and Gold put a strangle hold on the game early, scoring the first seven goals of the game, with the final tally in the run coming off the stick of O'Brien with 13:27 left in the first frame. Assumption followed up with three goals of their own, but Adelphi countered with three more, all in the final 3:50, to head into the intermission with a 10-3 lead. 

The Panthers opened the second half by putting the game out of reach, thanks to four goals in the first 5:23 from Crimi, making it a 14-3 game. Adelphi then closed the game with 10 more goals, making it a 14-0 second half run, giving the Brown and Gold a 24-3 victory.

Adelphi controlled every aspect of the game, out shooting the hosts, 53-6, committed less turnovers, 7-18, grabbed more ground balls, 21-11 and won more draw controls, 24-3.
