#2 Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past the Ravens, 22-3

Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - The second ranked Adelphi University women's lacrosse continued their home stand on Saturday, March 22 against fellow Northeast-10 member Franklin Pierce University. Devan Crimi powered the Panthers to a, 22-3 victory with four goals and five assists. With the triumph the Brown and Gold remain unbeaten at 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while the Ravens fall to 2-3 and 1-2 in the NE-10.

Crimi's nine points led all players, while both Danielle Jaycox and Alexa Froccaro chipped in five points, on three goals and two assists. Rachel O'Brien joined Crimi with four goals and Meg Brown totaled three tallies and Jackie Jahelka found the back of the net twice. Taylor Hayes made two stops, while picking up her seventh win of the season, and Taylor Langston and Jordann Dempsey both made one save each.

Jaycox and Brown led the stout Brown and Gold defense, causing five and four turnovers respectively, while Jahelka, Froccaro, Camille Rosellini and Jen Grahman turned the Ravens over twice each. Brown and Jaycox also led the Panthers in ground balls with four and three each, while Felicia Mills snagged 10 draw controls.

Adelphi scored five goals in the first 6:13 of the first half, as five different players found the back of the net. Franklin Pierce got on the board with 20:50 remaining in the half, 5-1, which is as close as the Ravens would get. A Meg Brown tally just 29 seconds later, pushed the lead back to five, 6-1, and kicked off a 12-0 scoring streak that ended with the Panthers ahead, 17-1, thanks to a Jacqueline Williams score with 23:29 left in the contest.

Franklin Pierce goals would bookend another Adelphi spurt, this time a five goal run, making the final count, 22-3 in favor of the Brown and Gold. The Panthers out shot Franklin Pierce, 49-9, collected more ground balls, 27-16 and turned the ball over less, 16-28.
