After the Ravens loaded the bases in the top of the third, Mulford retired the next three in order to escape the inning. The fourth started with a leadoff single by Matt Walsh followed by a Chris LaVorgna double, which let the Crimson and Grey into the game, scoring two that inning.
The next two and a half innings went by scoreless until Adelphi collected two more hits in the bottom of the seventh on singles by Stahl, Burns and
Cliff Brantley. The Ravens had another scoring opportunity in the top of the eighth but a diving play by Zito and popup to Mejia retired the side.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Adelphi would seal the deal, tacking on two more runs to lead 11-2. Ambury got on with a two-out base hit to center field. The next at-bat featured Stahl who blasted a ball over the right-center fence, for his first home run of the season.
Game 2
Bove started on the hill for Adelphi, retiring the first three Ravens in order to head into the bottom of the first. Stahl got on with a two-out single to left field, but was unable to advance as the inning ended. Franklin Pierce scored two runs on three hits and left three on base in the top of the second, as Abramowitz relieved Bove to get the final out of the inning.
As the innings went by each team tacked on a single run; for the Ravens it came in the top of the fourth and for Adelphi, the bottom of the sixth. The run came for the Panthers courtesy of another Ambury single, to score Hassell from second after Mejia collected his second double on the day.
In the top of the ninth inning, back-to-back singles coupled with back-to-back walks ignited the Ravens offense. The final line read "six runs on four hits with one error and none left on base" at the conclusion of the innings. The Panthers put on their rally caps as they entered the bottom of the ninth trailing 9-1. Signore and pinch hitter
Tyler Decker registered back-to-back singles to lead off the inning, followed by a pinch hit double by freshman
Robert Vani which drove in a run. Another Stahl single would leave the Brown and gold trailing Franklin Pierce 3-9 as the final two batter were plagued with strikeouts.
