South Easton, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference is pleased to announce its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2013 fall athletic season, with 91 student-athletes receiving recognition. The 91 selections, participating in men's and women's cross country, football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and volleyball, were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and on the playing field.

Melissa Rubin from women's soccer and
Colleen Raga from volleyball were Adelphi's eight honorees.
Aceves and Cuevas combined for 12 goals and 12 assists, accumulating 36 points in the process. Teammate Rubenstein grabbed two defensive saves and helped her team reach the Northeast-10 Conference semifinals.
Junior captain Hibbert helped his team reach the NE-10 semifinals in their inaugural season in the conference. The women's team reached the NCAA East Region Semifinals, but fell to the College of Saint Rose, 2-0. Brown accounted for three assists on the season and Rubin chipped in one. Groth chipped in one game-winning goal last season.
Senior captain Raga ranked fourth on the team in kills (176) and third in blocks (61). the squad reached the NCAA East Region Semifinals before falling to the University of New Haven in a thrilling five-game match.

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and been either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.
American International College and Bentley University led the way with 11 student-athletes selected apiece. Merrimack College and Stonehill College both had nine recognized, while Adelphi University and the University of New Haven each had eight.
Twenty student-athletes were recognized in the sports of field hockey and women's soccer, while men's soccer and volleyball saw 14 and 12 student-athletes, respectively, selected.
The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
