Waterbury, CT – On Friday, the Adelphi University men's tennis team traveled to Post University for a non-conference contest. The Panthers defeated the Eagles 9-0 to improve to 10-6 overall while the Eagles slip to 5-8.
The Panthers swept doubles play to take a commanding hold on the match.
Ryan White and
Bryan Kallenberg battled to a 9-7 win over Nick Tadros and Jonathyn Young in the top spot. The pairings of
Sander Brenner and
Boris Tiberkov and
Alan Chocron and
Chiwete Njokanma recorded identical 8-3 wins at second and third doubles, respectively.
Without the services of
Andreas Hammar, Kallenberg stepped into No. 1 singles and recorded a 6-3, 6-2 victory. The rest of the Panthers followed suit and the team did not drop a set in six singles victories. Chocron put on the most dominating performance in the third slot, as he bested his opponent 6-1, 6-0.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday, March 7, as they travel to Merrimack College for a 12 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference contest.
