Box Score Albany, N.Y. - The Adelphi University softball capped off the regular season with a 2-1 loss to Northeast-10 Conference divisional opponent The College of Saint Rose on Sunday, April 28 in Albany, New York. The loss drops Adelphi to 36-17 overall, and 16-5 in the Southwest Division, but the Panthers clinched the Northeast-10 Southwest Division regular season championship and the top seed in the Northeast-10 Tournament.

The host Golden Knights got on the board in the bottom of the first, scoring their only two runs of the game on four hits up the middle, giving them a 2-0 lead. The Panthers were silent until the top of the fourth, opening the inning with a single from Victoria Wink. Katie Andrews followed that up with a double to left center, but Wink was thrown out at home trying score. However, the Brown and Gold would halve the two run margin on a double from Jeanine Leo that plated Andrews, 2-1.

Unfortunately, the Golden Knight pitching staff kept the Panthers scoreless the rest of the way, holding on for the 2-1 win. Devon Kelly opened the contest, throwing four innings, giving up five hits and striking out three, while Laurin Watts threw two flawless frames of relief, striking out two.

Emily Dorko had one of Adelphi's five hits on the day, which made her the first player in program history to total 100 hits in a single season. Andrews was 2-3 at the plate with a run scored, while Leo and Wink picked up the other two Adelphi hits.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, May 3 at 4:00 pm in Manchester, New Hampshire in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Championship.
